Accelerating drug development through collaborative efforts

With the support from the Japan Bio Industry Association, we have been creating a world class monoclonal antibody library led by Dr. Tatsuhiko Kodama, a leader of this project at the University of Tokyo.

We will accelerate our progress by collaborating with the University of Osaka on X-ray crystal structures, with D.E. Shaw Institute in New York on molecular dynamics calculations, and with the Hospital of the University of Tokyo for the clinical evaluations. We will also cooperate with Chugai Pharmaceuticals for drug discovery and Fujifilm for cancer imaging to establish the Research and Development Base inviting researchers from the top firms to the University of Tokyo.

We have established MDADD Alliance Cooperation as a support organization under the cooperation of Chugai Pharmaceuticals, Fujifilm Group, the Bio Industry Association, and the University of Tokyo. MDADD Alliance Cooperation receives samples and knowledge from our research groups, holds the intellectual property rights for the basic technology for a fixed period as necessary, and provides licenses to companies when the “proof of concept” is established.
